How can I be poor. by: Izzie
I’ll be 68 in March and my Gran used to sing this to me every night except she sang. How can I be poor, when there’s gold in your lovely curls. How can I be poor when your teeth they are so many pearls. Your cheeks to me are roses your eyes are diamonds fair and when I’m with you my darling I’m as rich as a millionaire. Still miss my Gran.

your lips to me are rubies, your eye are diamonds rareNEW by: Eileen Hummerston
I am 73 years old and my mum used to sing this to me. I can not think how the tune went. Is there a video out there of someone singing this lullaby?

Baby Lou lullaby NEW by: Ruth
Said Baby Lou to her dad one night as she sat on his knee by the fire so bright, there’s lots of things I’d like to ask, whether we’re rich or whether we’re poor, the old man smiled and said my child, oh what a question to ask tonight. How can I be poor when there’s gold In your golden hair, how can I be poor when your dear little teeth are like so many pearls, you’re lips to me are Rubies, your eyes are diamonds too, someso while Ive got you my sweet baby Lou, I’m as rich as a millionaire

My Mother's Lullaby by: Anonymous
How can I be poor dear when there's gold in my baby's curls. Your dear little teeth are like so many pearls. Your lips to me are rubies. Your eyes are diamonds rare. So while I've got you my baby I'm as rich as a millionaire.
