The sun's going down, the moon's coming up

The sun's going down,
the moon's coming up,
the day is almost through.
The birds and the bees,
the flowers and the trees are
all getting sleepy, too.
Teddy bear is waiting to say good night and
so is your wooly sheep.
It's time you were tucked in your bed, sleepyhead.
It's time you were going to sleep.
Hush-a-bye, don't you cry.
Close your eyes in sleep...

I used to sing this to my baby brother in the mid-sixties. I no longer remember the end of the song. Now that I am a nanny, I need a copy of the written music, the complete lyrics and/or a recording of it. I sing what I remember to a one-year old every day before her nap and she loves it. Her parents want to learn it, too.

Thanks so much!

I have looked for this song for 30 years!

Have you found anything? I've been searching for this song for many years. My sister sang it to me as a baby, toddler, and many years after. She was 15 years old when I was born. She asked in her will that I sing it at her funeral which sadly is in a couple of days (she was in a fatal car accident). She had always told me she learned it from a greeting card. The sheet music was printed on a card my mom got when I was born so she sat at the piano and learned it. Now I sing it to my own kids.

Here is how she sang it:

The moon's coming up,
The sun's going down,
the day is almost through.
The birds and the bees,
the flowers and the trees are
all getting sleepy, too.
Teddy bear's waiting to be kissed good night and
so is your wooly sheep.
It's time you were tucked in your bed, sleepyhead.
It's time you were going to sleep.
close your eyes, go to sleep, go to sleep my dear.
Close your eyes, little one,
There is not to fear.
Because every star, overhead,
Keeps its watch,
Over (fill in child's name) bed.
So close your eyes and sleep tight.
Precious one,
Good night.
