I can remember the night when mother........and she sing me to sleep with a voice soft and sweet the i love you lullaby........... i think that's how it goes .....?
I sang this song every night to my first born and then again for my twins as well. I was so thankful to have healthy, happy, beautiful babies and singing "I love you" to them every night was the last thing I wanted them to hear! They are all grown now and one getting ready to get married. One day, I will sing this again to my grandchildren!

my mother used to sing that song to me, and now, i've married the love of my life (it had been a long time coming, down a long and twisted road) and i have a child on the way. I recently found myself humming this song, and after a while i just started singing, and it all came back to me. the words are (im 99% sure, which is why i came here):
I can remember the nights when mother would turn out the lights and shed sing me to sleep with her voice soft and sweet sing the i love you lullaby
i L O V E Y O U, youre all mamas dreams coming true from your cute little nose down to the tips of your toes i L O V E Y O U
Heaven has given to me The loveliest gift that could be And I cherish the sight Of your eyes closing tight To the I love you lullaby
i L O V E Y O U You're all of my dreams come true From your cute little nose down to the tips of your toes i L O V E Y O U i L O V E Y O U
I'm very tempted to sing this song to my newborn, but (I'm a song writer) I feel inclined to write my own. I think this lullaby is something I want to pass down, however, even though my mother got it from a CD (how unsentimental... :/) Plus, I sing it oh so very well. It reminds me of how far I've come, from a little girl, to having my own, falling in love, being the only one of my friends to do things the right way, the way God intended. He is really powerful and amazing. It's amazing where he'll take you in life and you give him your heart. I want that for my child too... Well, I THINK I've just convinced myself that this is my "designated lullaby"! God Bless :)
