The lyrics to this song as far as I can remember are:
"Go to sleep my dear little baby,
close your eyes and go to sleep.
There'll be a surprise when you awake,
for mother is busy baking a cake.
Go to sleep my dear little baby,
close your eyes and go to sleep."

My Grandmother and my Mom sang this to me. I haven't been able to find the complete lyrics on-line. If you know them, please post them.
