Brilliant to have found the lyrics.
I became aware of this lullaby when I was about 9yrs. Old.I sang it to my daughter & now my grand daughter which has been for the past 6 years, she is now 8yrs. Old & loves it.She laughs, as it's. Me who falls asleep before her!
We had to hum the. tune as I couldn't remember all of the words but now can sing all.I expect she will sing I to her children..how lovely!

My mum sang this to me as a child and now I sing it to my children. No one else I know knew it even now so nice to hear other are still singing it out there. My mum starts the song with close your eyes little one though not go to sleep and doesn't use the child's name just little one at the end too. But I might change it now as it makes it more personal.

My nan and grandad used to sing this to me and my brothers and sisters when we was younger and now I have a child and I was looking for this song everywhere, does anyone know where to find it???
